Network Rail & Atos Black History Month
Welcome to this year’s joint Network Rail & Atos Black History Month celebrations. This year we are focusing on
The Evolution of the Black Experience
2020 has seen several unsettling and disturbing acts take place across the world which have brought racial issues to the forefront of conversation. Throughout this period there has been a lot of negativity in the news and on social media that has both intentionally and unintentionally tried to divide the population and has led to global protests and social media blackouts.
This October, we want to do something different. We want to use October to celebrate the positive evolution of the black experience whilst openly addressing some of the continued struggles faced by black people in the UK. Through different events and talks like a forum with BAFTA award winning actress Naomi Ackie where we’ll delve deep into her experiences and insight from an entertainment perspective or a Symposium with Ansel Wong, one of the organisers of Notting Hill Carnival.
Together we will find that the evolution of the black experience is not just for black people but for everyone.
