Armed Forces Network
At Atos we recognise that our people are our greatest asset.
Amongst our employees, we have a growing number of armed forces veterans and reservists. They are extra-ordinary people who have trained, served and are still serving with Her Majesty’s British Armed Forces – the British Army, Royal Navy, or the Royal Air Force. The Atos Armed Forces Network is a non-exclusive group which is open to all employees who wish to show support for our armed forces community, not just reservists or veterans.
We’re proud to say that we received the highest standard Gold award in 2016’s Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) a scheme which encompasses awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
Our programme encompasses many project streams including armed forces advocacy, improved transition and ongoing support for reservists and ex-service personnel, recruitment of service leavers – both young and old through our partnership with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), job-finding, graduate and personal development and the UK Defence enterprise skills agenda. Atos is supportive of time off for reservist training, has a robust mobilisation policy to support those preparing to deploy. We also support spouses of active service personnel, offering flexibility to balance work and home life.
Each year, Atos actively participate in the London Poppy Day which raises a fantastic amount for the Royal British Legion.
Dawn, Senior Director, Global UCC Sales Enablement, Unify
“With 23 years’ service in the armed forces, I am proud to be the the first female Squadron Commander of the 94 (Berkshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron, Windsor. Atos are very supportive of reservists, giving time off for deployment and training. They actively recruit reservists and veterans for their wealth of transferable skills and experience. I feel valued, not only for the work I do but for the time I spend in uniform.”
Matt, Technology Strategy Director
“I served in the Royal Signals for 14 years including deployments to interesting places like Namibia, Iraq, Turkey, Gibraltar, Cyprus and Bosnia. After being injured and subsequent medical rehabilitation I left the Army in 1999 working for various IT companies before joining Atos in 2010 as a Principal Technical Architect. Through the opportunities Atos has given me I have now found my niche as Technology Strategy Director for the services Atos provide to a large UK Government Department.”
