Celebrating International Women’s Day 2019

Atos celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) on Friday 8 March with various events featuring talks and guest speakers from Atos locations across the world. In the UK & Ireland, AtosAspire – our diversity network dedicated to gender – hosted an exclusive event in our London headquarters, with guest speaker Sharon Moore MBE, IBM Chief Technology Officer Public Sector UK. Sharon has been awarded an MBE for services to Women in Technology-based industries and recently nominated for the 2019 FDM everywoman in Tech Awards in the Leader category, celebrating the most inspirational women working within STEM industries.

The 2019 campaign theme of #BalanceforBetter called for driving gender balance across the world. IWD is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

All local UK&I events and the AtosAspire raffle organised at this occasion raised money for this year’s selected charity, Forward, the Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development, which is committed to gender equality and safeguarding the rights of girls and women.
