AtosPride rising star nominated for British LGBT awards
We are pleased to announce that Julia Atwater, Head of Communications, B&PS, was shortlisted in the NatWest British LGBT Awards Top 10 LGBT+ Corporate Rising Stars 2018, held on Friday 11 May. The NatWest British LGBT Awards is designed to showcase individuals and organisations that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the LGBT community. The Awards believe that those who go the extra mile to ensure equality, opportunity and fair treatment for all, regardless of sexuality, deserve to be recognised.
Julia was nominated as co-founder/co-chair of Atos’ global LGBT+ network, AtosPride. Julia built the AtosPride network, which now has 670 members in 24 countries, created the AtosPride ally program and enabled Atos to jump 145 places in the 2017 Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. Julia plays a key role in helping to ensure diversity and inclusion remain integral to Atos’ strategy, working closely with HR, sales, bid and delivery teams. Being an out LGBT+ role model, Julia is active on Twitter, raising awareness of LGBT inclusion. Outside of work, Julia plays rugby and involved her team in the Stonewall Rainbow laces campaign. Last month she ran the Chester half-marathon in aid of The Proud Trust LGBT youth charity.
