The Linwood site is based in Pavilions 2 within St James Business Park, Linwood. which is situated adjacent to the Linclive Spur (to the M8 motorway), approximately two miles from Glasgow Airport, and approximately 10 miles from Glasgow City Centre.

The office has been built on the former site of the Rootes/Pressed Steel/Chrysler/Talbot Car Plant. The Plant was most famous for the production of Hillman Imp cars in the 1960’s and was designed for a maximum output of 3,000 Imps a week. The site had its very own railway system and British Rail introduced a special train called the “Imp Special” which could transport 100 new cars at a time from the site to the Midlands. The car plant site has now been demolished and been redeveloped as a retail and leisure business park.

“Linwood” comes from the Anglo-Saxon word ‘enclosure’. Other sources suggest the village name is a hybrid meaning “wood by the pool”. Originally known as “The Linwood” the settlement dates back to the fourteenth century when Linwood consisted of a small collection of farms and dwellings concentrated on the banks of the Black Cart River. It was given the collective name “The Linwood” with early maps showing it as “Ye Lynwode”.

Access to Atos is via the main entrance’s entry system, where Reception is on the ground floor. All visitors must sign in at reception.
