Apprenticeship

Business Administration

My Apprentice job summed up

My official job title is Change Analyst, as part of the Infrastructure Software and Release Change Management team. I assist both my colleagues and customers with analysing and dealing with changes from various customer accounts. I contribute towards change management meeting global targets and providing our customers with a satisfying and excellent service. My role is very exciting and intriguing to me, it’s nothing like I’ve ever done before. It involves interacting with different people from all over the world, not one day is ever the same. Different days have different challenges and obstacles to overcome, but all of this helps me to grow as a person, and helps me to improve, both my skills and ability, day after day.

What impact do you feel you’ve had since joining?

Since joining Atos and the change management team, it has had a big impact on my ability, in both IT and change management itself. It has impacted me in a way in which I discovered skills that I didn’t know I had, and has identified something that I really enjoy doing. Since joining the team I have been asked to produce ‘Service Management Centre Good News Infographic’. This is a poster that highlights and praises all the great and wonderful things that the people from our team have done that month, it is great to be involved in such a positive and artistic assignment. During my time, I have also enabled change management to meet a global target by completing various activities and tasks assigned to me, an amazing project to get involved with given the time I’ve been at Atos.

What have you learned since starting your apprenticeship?

Since starting my apprenticeship I have learnt a great deal, from developing new skills, widening my knowledge on different subjects and general experience within the work environment. When I first joined Atos, I had a week’s residential induction, which was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about Atos itself and to meet fellow apprentices from all over the UK. This week involved learning the psychology behind the way in which people think at work and how to act in a professional manner, which I found very interesting. During my time in the office, I have learnt a lot in which the way the change management team work, their processes and procedures, and how to manage my workload efficiently. As well as learning, what is required for my job role, I have also learnt to develop my personal skills. This includes talking to different people, completing difficult tasks and having the confidence to put my ideas forward and contribute positively to the team. There are always new opportunities within Atos that I can get involved in.
