Atos wins best sponsored project again, second year in a row

For the third year running, Atos has been pleased to support Computer Science group projects at the University of Nottingham 2019 Computer Science Showcase, which culminated last week with presentations from the project teams. Whilst our support primarily helps students with their learning and career opportunities in Atos, it is also an opportunity for us to address some of the challenges faced during client engagements in an academic environment.

The three projects that were supported this year were:

  • Mike Smith, Chief Technology Officer, worked with a team developing a solicitor rota generation system for our customer the Legal Aid Agency
  • David Daly, Worldline Global Deal Assurance Manager, supported a project covering a DevOps maturity model assessment system (see Manager’s corner)
  • Nigel Garnham’s, Head of Portfolio & Proposition Development, group (pictured), modelled an IoT Waste Water Discharge management platform – which was awarded the prize for best sponsored project out of the 35 teams taking part.

Another great event, with outputs from the teams have some outputs that will make a real difference to our own services and those of our customers.
