New Atos contract set to strengthen Edrington’s worldwide business development plans

Atos, an international leader in digital services has today announced a five-year multi-million pound agreement to design, implement and host an Enterprise Resource Planning system for international premium spirits producer, Edrington.

Headquartered in Glasgow, Edrington will use a single SAP solution to support the company in managing its international customer transactions. The SAP solution is part of a business transformation to enable the company to achieve their objectives across the UK and a further 11 markets spanning Asia, Africa, Europe and the USA. Using their proven global expertise, Atos will manage the SAP implementation from the UK as the new system is rolled-out across Edrington’s international business.

Edrington, whose brands include The Macallan, The Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark, Highland Park, Brugal rum and Snow Leopard vodka, has undergone significant business change and growth over the past six years. The business has transformed its premium spirit Scotch Whisky production, acquired international spirit brands and increased direct control over sales and distribution to new and existing markets around the world. The new IT contract with Atos will further equip the company with new capabilities and controls to help sustain its international development.

Atos Senior Vice President in Scotland, Gavin Thomson, said the company was delighted to have been awarded the opportunity to support the Edrington operations and business development plans across the UK and internationally.

“We also share Edrington’s vision and passion for creating a 21st century business which is able to expand and broaden their success across the globe. We are proud to be working for a company in Scotland which has such an admirable worldwide reputation.

“Atos has invested heavily in our people and our workplace over the past few years. We have highly experienced and motivated business technologists working across the country who are key to giving us the opportunity to add major contracts like this to our business.”

Euan Fraser, Director of Business Technology for Erdington said: “Atos is helping Edrington to build a platform that will integrate and simplify our systems, supporting our business and helping us reach more consumers around the world with our premium spirit brands.”

The new Edrington single shared SAP global system will provide control and visibility over the entire transactional process, forecasting and production of goods across the company’s worldwide operations.

This new agreement follows the June announcement of a major new ticketing and reservation commercial back office support contract for Atos with Scotland’s leading passenger and vehicle ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac).

Atos was the Games Management Systems and Games Information Systems Official Supporter for this year’s Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, and has business technologists working in locations across Scotland including Livingston, Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh, Inverness, Aberdeen and Forres.
