Atos marks National Apprenticeship week with opportunities for more than 80 apprentices and launch of 2014 Apprenticeship Programme

Atos, an international IT services company, today announced its search for more than 80 exceptional young people to join the organisation as apprentices, specialising in areas such as cloud computing and cyber security. The opportunities are part of the company’s annual Apprenticeship Scheme and have been announced to coincide with National Apprenticeship week.

The Atos Apprenticeship Scheme was first introduced in 2010, in response to a large ICT talent gap amongst young people. Atos’ programme allows apprentices to build a career in IT using formal training and development programmes and a number of recognised qualifications, offering an alternative option to the more traditional University route.

After initially offering 7 places in its first year, the programme has now trained more than 130 apprentices, most of whom have gone to secure permanent roles with the company. This year, Atos hopes to attract 85 of Britain’s brightest and best to work for them. Interested applicants can find more details on the https://atos.net/en-gb.

Atos’ Apprenticeship Programme has been widely recognised for its quality. The company was declared one of the City & Guilds Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in 2013, was Regional Winner of the Employer of the Year in 2013’s National Apprenticeship Awards as well as being nationally shortlisted. The company was also the winner of Scotland’s Best Newcomer Employer for apprentices in 2012.

Two of the 2012 cohort of Atos apprentices have secured further recognition of their talents, with shortlisting for the LondonlovesTalent Apprentice of the Year award. One of those nominated, Jake Cooper said: “I am very excited to have reached the finals, especially as I also won Atos Apprentice of the Year 2013. It’s great to get this kind of recognition and I think the event itself is going to be a great experience.”

Jane Williams, Atos HR Director, Talent and Performance Management said: “We are extremely excited to be offering these opportunities and want to hear from everyone who thinks they have what it takes. Our programme gives bright and motivated young people an opportunity to get on the career ladder with a globally recognised company, working on exciting and diverse projects.”
