Atos delivers innovative project to help Plan International achieve a SAP Quality Award

An innovative project from Atos, an international IT services company, has helped children’s development organisation Plan International to win a SAP UK Quality Award (Silver Winner, Large Implementation, 2013).

The award recognised the work of Atos’ Systems Integration Line on the ‘Horison’ project which provides a single HR system for 9,000+ Plan International employees across 50 countries – based in some of the most challenging and remote regions of the world.

The Atos team helped Plan International, who promote child rights and work to lift millions of children out of poverty, to put in the platform that will enable standardised HR and Talent Management Processes globally, including user-friendly self-service, performance appraisals, standardised compensation, learning, and resourcing tools. The first phase of the project was delivered in 12 weeks and provided a global template of core HRIS and Talent processes in three languages.

Atos leveraged its Certification for a SAP HCM Rapid Deployment Solution and SuccessFactors partnership to shape an accelerated yet world class set of processes in an innovative hybrid on premise / cloud data model. Plan International started with no traditional blueprint or set requirements, but embraced Design Thinking, best practice content and aligned committee members from around the world to input and sign off on three iterations of the solution.

The Atos team also enabled Plan International team members in adjusting the HR solution and onboarding employee data for subsequent country roll-outs. After an initial pilot in the UK-based International Headquarters, the core HCM solution is now live in Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Egypt and Sudan.

By the end of year Plan International will have nearly half of its total employee population and key regions up and running with the solution. Additional key process such as learning, global compensation, resourcing and the development of enabling mobile technologies are under construction and will build on the success story by mid-2014.
