CSR Challenge – The Wingate Trust

At Atos, we believe in supporting communities as well as businesses. Our Graduate Corporate Social Responsibility Challenge focuses on the Wingate Special Children’s Trust, which offers specialist residential accommodation and recreational activities for children and young adults with special needs.

For more than 25 years, the Trust has offered the opportunity to enjoy a holiday away from the limitations of home in a unique and safe environment. Its facilities include a fully equipped gymnasium and three acres of secure grounds with wheelchair-accessible play areas, sensory gardens and outside classrooms.

We have worked closely with the trust to identify their needs and agree areas where our graduate volunteers can add the most value. As part of the 2 week graduate induction, our graduates spend a day giving practical support to the trust, whether creating a nature trail, enhancing gardens, or painting and decorating.

By participating in the challenge, our graduates make a huge difference to the lives of children with disabilities.

“Our CSR challenge was a really fun and enjoyable part of the graduate induction. Our group cleared pathways to help make the sensory garden more accessible for the children, and we rolled our sleeves up to paint fences and benches in the garden. It was a great team building exercise and our work was really appreciated by the team at the Wingate trust. We had a great sense of achievement and really felt our contributions had made a positive difference to support the great work by the trust.”
