GDG CloudFest Poland – summary

On March 15, 2023, the first Polish edition of the conference organized by the Google Developers Group CloudFest community took place at the Holiday Inn hotel in Bydgoszcz. The event is focused and dedicated to people developing and building cloud environments.

GDG CloudFest Poland 2023 started a little after 9 o’clock with a fresh and energetic speech by Simon Withers, who serves as Global Head of Engineering and Portfolio at Atos. More than 200 attendees could then choose from 19 lectures delivered simultaneously in 2 rooms. The speeches, in addition to their content value, were often enriched by live-demo sessions, during which the discussed solutions were presented in a practical form. In total, the event was supported by 22 lecturers affiliated with various expert communities and working on a daily basis with the leaders of the Cloud segment.

„The first edition is behind us, and already plans and ideas for the next one are emerging. Such a good attendance (100% of tickets sold out!) confirms that there is space in Bydgoszcz to organize very specialized, international meetings for colleagues working in the ever-changing and growing Cloud industry” says Jarosław Gajewski, organizer on behalf of GDG Cloud Bydgoszcz, by day Cloud System Architect at Atos. “We have managed to gather speakers with a great knowledge and experience and build an interesting and inspiring agenda. The first edition set the quality bar high for us, but I believe that the next editions will be even better.”

In addition to the lectures and the opportunity to talk over coffee, a dedicated zone was open throughout the day, where Cloud experts were at the disposal of the audience. There, those wishing to do so could talk in detail about the topics presented during the lectures or together work out solutions to the problems raised. For those wishing to slow down a bit, the Bydgoszcz Free Games Zone prepared several tables and a large collection of board games.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Bydgoszcz. Atos was the main sponsor of the event.
