Rijkswaterstaat concludes agreement with Atos for supply of application and platform services

Amstelveen, 5 February 2020 – In order to ensure that the ICT services continue to meet the needs of the organisation and to be able to further standardise, Rijkswaterstaat has concentrated the Application and Platform Services (RAP) in three new cooperation agreements. After an extensive consultation and selection process, Atos, CGI and Technolution were selected for this purpose

This year the existing contracts for Application and Platform Services (RAP) will expire. This was a good time for Rijkswaterstaat to adapt the required services to the demands of our time. This led to contracts in which three domain-independent parcels were awarded to private parties in accordance with Rijkswaterstaat’s I-strategy. What is new is that the contracts are geared to technology/platforms and no longer to RWS’s various networks, such as vessel traffic management, business operations or water management. A single service provider was sought for each plot of land to take responsibility for the entire plot’s programme.

The agreements between Rijkswaterstaat and the three parties are valid for four years and can be extended in one-year increments up to a maximum of ten years. Service manager Steven Abdoelkhan of Rijkswaterstaat explains the new contracts: “These agreements are in line with our goal to realise socially relevant solutions with new technology. Important themes for RAP are reliability and continuity, sustainability, balance and symbiosis, and interactivity. These new agreements will enable Rijkswaterstaat and the selected private parties to develop the right form of cooperation that will help to keep the provision of information reliable and meaningful. RAP makes it work,’ is our motto.

“Atos has long been a reliable partner for many government organisations in the field of application management and development. We are proud to provide these services for Rijkswaterstaat as well,” says Rob Jobben, Head of Public & Health at Atos Netherlands. “In the coming years Rijkswaterstaat will face the challenge of preparing the national infrastructure for the future. This requires partners with the right knowledge and experience, who also have access to an ecosystem that enables them to offer continuity in the current application landscape and move with new developments. With our long track record in the public sector, we have shown ourselves to be a partner on which Rijkswaterstaat can build in the years ahead”.
