Special Celebrations for Armed Forces Week and Reserves Day

On Wednesday 24 June, the Armed Forces Network celebrated Atos Reservists who give up their spare time to serve in the UK Reserve Forces, balancing their civilian life with a military career to ensure that if required, they are ready to serve for their country. More recently some have been deployed as key workers supporting the coronavirus pandemic.

As well as celebrating Armed Forces Week and Day on Saturday 27 June, the Royal Corps of Signals celebrated its Centenary on Sunday 28 June. The Royal Corps of Signals is led by Atos Reservist Royal Signals Major Dawn Saunders, Officer Commanding 94 (Berkshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron and Head of UCC Sales Enablement (pictured). To celebrate, Dawn not only ran 100km, she also did an extra 100km of fast pace walking with a weighted rucksack, known as Tabbing in military terms.

The Atos Armed Forces Network is an inclusive group which is open to all employees who wish to show support for our armed forces community, not just reservists or veterans.

Dawn said: “In Atos, I am passionate about supporting the work of our Reservist colleagues and family members in promoting the essential role that our UK Armed Forces Reserves play.”
