Neurodiversity Celebration Week

To mark Neurodiversity Celebration Week (13th – 19th March), the Adapt Network hosted an Adapt Round Table Talk with Josh Reid. Neurodiversity week is recognised each year as a time to come together to raise awareness, share resources, and tell stories about Neurodiversity successes.

During this round table, we heard from Josh Reid about his mental health journey of depression, autistic spectrum disorder diagnosis, and subsequent founding of the Atos Adapt Autism Community. Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people interact and communicate with the world.

Autism is most commonly influenced by genetic and environmental factors but as it is a spectrum disability it can affect each individual in different ways. ASD refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and nonverbal communication.
