Atos ermittelt mit Startup Greenspector die Top 30 Energieverbraucher unter weltweit beliebtesten mobilen Apps

Paris, 15. Mai 2019 – Anlässlich der VivaTech 2019 stellt Atos in einer Studie des Startups Greenspector die Top 30 Energieverbräuche der weltweit beliebtesten Mobilanwendungen vor. Die von 5 Milliarden mobilen Nutzern weltweit genutzten Apps benötigen immer umfassendere technische Ressourcen (RAM, CPU, Daten, etc.). Dies hat großen Einfluss auf den Energieverbrauch und die Umwelt.

Mobile Anwendungen verbrauchen so viel Energie wie Irland

Häufig werden Rechenzentren für die Treibhausgas-Emissionen des digitalen Sektors verantwortlich gemacht – bis 2025 wird dieser fast zehn Prozent der globalen Emissionen ausmachen. Tatsächlich aber haben mobile Anwendungen einen höheren Anteil, wie die Studie von Greenspector für Atos zeigt: Der prognostizierte jährliche Verbrauch mobiler Anwendungen (ohne die Nutzung von Netzen und Servern der Rechenzentren) entspricht 20 Terawattstunden, was fast dem jährlichen Stromverbrauch eines Landes wie Irland mit 5 Millionen Einwohnern entspricht.
