How do you see your job evolve in the future?

In the future, I envision my job evolving into a more strategic and collaborative position. Rather than focusing solely on building AI models as the end product, machine learning engineers and data scientists will increasingly leverage AI as an enabling technology to enhance capabilities across different domains. This will require working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where AI can be applied to solve problems, optimize processes, and drive innovation. Furthermore, data scientists will play crucial role in ensuring the responsible and ethical use of AI, thereby helping to build trust and credibility in AI-driven systems.

What matters most about your job?

What matters most is the pivotal importance of maintaining the health and sustainability of a company’s systems. It’s not just about meeting customer requirements; it’s about driving business growth and ensuring compliance while navigating complex technological landscapes. Despite the daunting complexity of the task, I am committed to developing long-term strategies for legacy replacement and guiding the company through transformative changes.

How do you see your job evolving in the future?

I’ve been in software development for many years, witnessing firsthand the necessity for solutions architects to continuously learn and adapt to evolving architectural design patterns, techniques, and methodologies.

Despite concerns about AI potentially replacing our roles, particularly amplified by ChatGPT, I believe this won’t happen, at least not within the next three decades. Solution architects have a promising future. As technologies progress, so must our approaches to solution architecture. AI tools will help solution architects be more pragmatic in problem-solving, sharpening design thinking and improving operational efficiency.
