Atos launches new speed log for Navy vessels and merchant fleets

Providing reliable navigation information to the crew through BEN Marine product range

.

Paris, November 24, 2020,

Atos today launches its latest electromagnetic speed log, CLETA, to provide accurate navigation information for crew aboard military and merchant vessels. This solution belongs to Atos’ BEN Marine product range.

The purpose of an electromagnetic speed log (EM log) is to calculate and display the speed and the distance travelled through the water so that the crew can get real-time and reliable information to adjust their navigation. The system is necessary to operate the ship and brings key information to the navigation system.

CLETA integrates the latest technologies, is compliant with the latest International Maritime Organizations’ regulations and has an intuitive colorful design which makes it easy to use. A multifunction display includes speed-over-ground data from GPS, heading information (such as total or daily distance) and could be customized to display any additional information. The navigation team can also set up alarm thresholds to prevent any possible incidents.

This electromagnetic speed log is the latest solution in the BEN Marine range of navigation instrumentation. It combines the well-known quality and reliability of BEN Marine products with the latest technologies to provide our client, whether civil or military, with a state-of-the-art navigation system for their vessels.” says Bruno Milard, Head of Business Unit Aerospace & Defense Electronics at Atos.

CLETA belongs to the Ben Marine range of products. Ben Marine products are notably used onboard frigates and submarines of the Argentinian Navy and have proven robustness and reliability.

Atos’ CLETA speed log is fully designed and manufactured in Aix-en-Provence, France, and can display the information in any language on request.
