Atos completes the acquisition of IDnomic
Atos strengthens its leadership in cybersecurity and digital identity management
Paris, October 1, 2019,
Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of IDnomic, European leader in digital identity management infrastructure. With this acquisition, Atos reinforces its global leadership in cybersecurity and expands its offering in the field of digital identity management and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solutions.
IDnomic’s expertise in PKI technology is applied to many everyday uses to protect the digital identities of people, machines and connected objects. Its SaaS (Software as a Service) trust solutions complement Atos’ cybersecurity product offerings – in particular identity and access management, data protection, management of security certificates and IoT security solutions.
According to Pierre Barnabé, Senior Executive Vice-President, Head of Big Data & Cybersecurity at Atos: “We are delighted to welcome IDnomic to the Atos family. IDnomic’s expertise strengthens our ability to support our customers end-to-end in their cybersecurity needs. This acquisition allows us to consolidate our global leadership and address new security challenges related to hybrid cloud, certificate management automation, and the Internet of Things.”
“Joining Atos is a great source of pride. This will enable us to support, together, the development of the multiple uses of digital identity as well as to enrich our offers to meet the many needs of our customers, who are increasingly demanding in terms of cybersecurity” says Coralie Héritier, CEO of IDnomic.
“Atos’ acquisition of IDnomic is a ‘win-win’ scenario. IDnomic gains global reach and scale while retaining a European core. For Atos, its digital identity proposition is enriched. Trust is built-in through IDnomic’s PKI presence, and capability added via an automated certificate lifecycle management offering deliverable through a scalable, as-a-service model” says Ralf Helkenberg, Research Manager of European Privacy & Data Security at IDC.
“As with all good combinations, the value exceeds the sum of its parts. IDnomic positions Atos to provide trusted identity for users and devices across multi-cloud and IoT environments. Successful digital transformation requires more than just security, risk and policy management, making trust a critical value for the future enterprise” says Dominic Trott, Research Director of European Security & Privacy at IDC.
With 5,000 cybersecurity experts and 14 Security Operations Centers (SOCs) worldwide, Atos was recently ranked 3rd in the world and 1st in Europe for security service management by Gartner[1].
IDnomic’s teams, which include more than 100 digital identity specialists, are joining Atos’ community of cybersecurity experts.
In 2018, IDnomic generated €17 million in revenue. The current management will support IDnomic in this new phase within the group.
Meet the Atos experts at the Assises de la Sécurité tradeshow in Monaco from October 9 – 12 on booth #169.
