Atos enhances AMOS platform with next-generation digital features and functionality

Paris, France, April 29, 2020 – Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announced that the Atos Managed OpenShift Service (AMOS) platform has been upgraded with new digital capabilities from Atom, the digital development platform from Atos.

AMOS is the result of a collaboration by Atos and Red Hat to create a cloud platform solution designed to enable global enterprises to execute large-scale migrations from legacy to open source platforms. Built on Red Hat OpenShift, AMOS provides a single managed container platform that helps businesses design, build, and roll-out more secure, scalable, cloud-native applications.

The Atom platform employs pre-built, reusable solution building blocks to provide enterprises with access to a rich new set of functionalities that accelerate the development of digital applications. This new upgrade enables users to quickly develop and implement next-generation digital functionality for apps built on the Red Hat OpenShift platform.

According to Chetan Manjarekar, Chief Technology Officer of Atos Business & Platform Solutions, AMOS enables companies to radically transform and modernize their application landscape and move directly from legacy to cloud-native applications.

“For enterprises looking to transform from legacy to digital, one of the most significant barriers is the cost and time required to develop advanced features and services from the ground up. By enabling AMOS with ‘plug-and-play’ digital building blocks from the Atom platform, our clients can easily integrate and deploy innovative digital services and significantly accelerate time to value on their large Digital Transformation initiatives. Atom integration enables a total re-imagination of the digital experience with unprecedented agility.”

Atom delivers a foundational reference architecture for any Digital Transformation program along with a library of ready-to-deploy, microservices-based functionality for advanced digital technologies such as Big Data, AI and machine learning, IoT, Blockchain, AR/VR, mobile platforms and more. With this upgrade, these components are now available to companies employing the Atos AMOS platform.

Franz Meyer, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Global Accounts at Red Hat said:

“The new cloud-native functionality that the Atom integration delivers will enable customers to quickly and seamlessly implement a vast array of new digital features to container platforms based on Red Hat OpenShift. The benefits include reduced complexity and increased productivity, letting developers focus on solving business problems rather than plumbing code.”
