About Matthew Evans
Matt leads techUK’s market facing activities, spanning the public sector through to smart infrastructure.
He was formerly head of techUK’s Smarter UK and Internet of Things Programs as well as CEO of the Broadband Stakeholder Group. SmarterUK is the champion of smarter infrastructure in the UK and focuses on utilities, smart cities and transport. He has led work on trust principles in an IoT world for consumers as well as helping techUK members explore new avenues of revenue in sectors such as the connected home, agriculture and infrastructure. The BSG, is a government-industry forum tackling strategic issues across the converging broadband value chain. Matthew led work on net neutrality, future demand modelling, the cost of deploying networks and discussions on a universal service obligation.
Previously Matthew worked in Arqiva’s public policy team, covering broadcast and telecoms markets for over two years across broadcast and telecoms markets.
