The Atos Next-Gen Supercomputer Reveal Ceremony will be hosted by Rodolphe Belmer, CEO of Atos with the participation of Cédric O, Secretary of State for the Digital Economy in France. We will unveil the next-generation Atos supercomputer, which unites the leading innovations and cutting-edge technologies. Rodolphe Belmer – CEO – Atos

Rodolphe Belmer joined Atos on January 1st, 2022 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
He was formerly Chief Executive Officer of satellite operator Eutelsat Communications, a position he held for six years, following a 14-year career at Paris-based television giant Canal+ where he was appointed CEO in 2003 and served as Group Managing Director from 2012 to 2015. During his career at Canal+ Group he led several transformational projects, including diversification of the area of free-to-air television and its expansion into streaming services (OTT). He began his career in the marketing department of Procter & Gamble France before joining McKinsey in 1998. Rodolphe is a graduate of the renowned HEC Paris business school.
In addition to his duties at Atos he is also a member of the Board of the world leading streaming service Netflix and President of the Lille-based Series Mania Festival.

Sanzio Bassini – Director, SuperComputing Applications and Innovation Department – CINECA

After being a member of the Data Treatment and Computing expert group in the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructure – ESFRI in the years 2004-2006, in the years 2011-2013 he was a member of the European e-Infrastructure Policy Forum and a member of the sub-group on data in G8 + O5 Global Research Infrastructure.
He has been independent reviewer of many international digital infrastructure projects, recently member of the expert committee of the Canadian Major Science Initiative Fund 2017 – 2022.
Over the years he has been Vice President of the Research Area of the European Technology Platform for HPC – ETP4HPC AISBL 2012 – 2014 and President of the Partnership for Advanced Computing – PRACE Council in the period 2014 – 2106.
After being the Italian Sherpa representative in the working group for the establishment of the JU EuroHPC, he is currently a Member of the EuroHPC Infrastructure Advisory Board and Leader of the EuroHPC Italian Pre- Exascale Leonardo Infrastructure Project.

Arnaud Bertrand – Senior Vice President, Head of Strategy and R&D for Big Data and Cybersecurity – Atos


Arnaud is Senior Vice President, Head of Strategy and R&D for Big Data and Cybersecurity with responsibility for driving Strategy, Innovation, Roadmap, and R&D with a worldwide reach on HPC (High Performance Computing), x86 high-end systems, Big Data/AI, Cyber Security and Defense Solutions. Arnaud is also an Atos Fellow. He has more than 20-years’ experience in the information technology and services industry. Skilled mainly in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Data Center, and Business Unit Management.

Agnès Boudot – Head of HPC & Quantum – Atos

Agnès is the Senior Vice President for HPC, AI and Quantum Business Line within Big Data & Security Division at Atos since January 2017. She oversees the HPC and Quantum business for Atos group, she owns the portfolio definition and manages the HPC & Quantum sales and support Operations worldwide. In parallel to her current HPC, AI and Quantum leadership role, Agnes Boudot is also CTO for the Public Sector & Defense Industry at Atos.

Before taking this position, Agnès worked for Cray and SGI (now part of HPE) and grew her experience in HPC in different Technical and Sales support positions, from Software System engineer to Presales Manager for Europe. Agnès started her career at CEA as a System Software specialist in 1990.

Steve Conway – Co-founder, Hyperion Research

Steve Conway leads Hyperion Research’s practice in high performance data analysis (big data needing HPC) focusing on HPC market dynamic and market trends. A 25-year veteran of the HPC and IT industries, Steve is a member of the steering committees of the HPC User Forum, and of the annual ISC Big Data and ISC Cloud conferences. He is a frequent conference speaker and contributor to HPC-related publications, including HPC studies for U.S. government agencies and the European Commission, as well as the 2015 book Industrial Applications of High Performance Computing.
Before joining Hyperion Research, Steve was vice president of investor relations and corporate communications for Cray Inc. He also held executive positions with SGI, Cray Research and CompuServe. Steve had a 12-year career in university teaching and administration at Boston University and Harvard University.
A former Senior Fulbright Fellow, Steve holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in German from Columbia University and a master’s in comparative literature from Brandeis University, where he also completed doctoral coursework and exams.

Eric Eppe – Head of Portfolio & Solutions, HPC & Quantum, Atos


Eric is Global Head of Solution Marketing & Portfolio for HPC and Quantum at Atos Big Data and Security Division. He started his career with Alcatel as a CAE System Engineer, then moved to Intergraph as a consultant. He was with SGI for almost 10 years, with Product & business ownership for storage product lines, including XFS, CXFS and DMF. He was lately managing his own trading business and joined Atos in 2015 as Director of Storage & Data Management for Extreme Computing and Big Data.

Alison Kennedy – Director, STFC Hartree Centre

Alison Kennedy is the Director of the Hartree Centre, a department of the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) National Laboratories in the UK. Based at Daresbury in the North West of England, the Hartree Centre’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of technologies such as HPC, HPDA, AI and quantum computing by UK industry, leading to economic and productivity gains for the UK. Backed by £172m of government money to launch the Hartree National Centre for Digital Innovation, the centre has recently extended its collaboration with IBM Research in this 5 year programme. Prior to joining the Hartree Centre in 2016, Alison held dual roles as an Executive Director of EPCC, the national HPC Centre based at the University of Edinburgh and as Managing Director of the PRACE aisbl (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe). She has undergraduate degrees in History and in Mathematics and Technology and a post-graduate degree in Business Administration. Alison Kennedy began her working life as a real time systems programmer in industry, progressing to roles in software product management and in sales. She has now worked in HPC for almost 30 years, managing large organisations, projects and collaborations in HPC, Data and AI.

Thomas Lippert – Head of Jülich Supercomputing Centre, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH

Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Lippert is the director of the Institute for Advanced Simulation (IAS) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. He is the head of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), a division of the IAS, and acts as managing director of the John von Neumann Institute for Computing (NIC). He is professor for Modular Supercomputing and Quantum Computing at the Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. He is chair of the board of directors of the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing e.V. From 2018 to 2020 (June) he was Chair of the Council of the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE). Currently he acts as German representative at the PRACE Council. Since 2019 he is spokesman of the Helmholtz Programme “Engineering Digital Futures: Supercomputing, Data Management and Information”. He is one of the founding members of the Human Brain Project (HBP) and member of the scientific infrastructure board of the HBP. He has initiated the series of Europe founded DEEP projects.

Jean-Philippe Nominé – Fellow, HPC Strategic Collaborations Manager, Simulation and Information Sciences Division, CEA

Dr. Ing. Jean-Philippe Nominé – CEA Fellow, HPC Strategic Collaborations Manager – Simulation and Information Sciences Division, CEA/DIF Bruyères-le-Châtel.
Since 15 years, after different technical and managing positions in CEA HPC division, in particular in software development and engineering and high performance visualization, Dr. Nominé has mostly focused on the development of European HPC activities. He contributed in particular to the early development and operations of PRACE aisbl, of ETP4HPC Association, of Horizon 2020 HPC Public Private Partnership, and to various technical or ecosystem development European HPC projects. He is now involved in activities related to EuroHPC.
Dr. Nominé is a member of ETP4HPC Association Steering Board, ETP4HPC Vice-chair for Research, and was a member of EuroHPC Research and Innovation Advisory Group (RIAG) in 2020-2021, on behalf of ETP4HPC.

Addison Snell – CEO, Intersect360 Research (Moderator)

Addison Snell is a veteran of the High Performance Computing industry. Addison is co-founder and CEO of Intersect360 Research, now in its 15th year delivering forecasts and insights for high-performance markets. Addison and his team is dedicated to market intelligence, research, and consulting advisory practice focused on suppliers, users, and policymakers across the High Performance Computing ecosystem. Intersect360 Research relies on both user-based and supplier-based research to form a complete perspective of HPC market dynamics, trends, and usage models. Addison is a competent bridge player, an excellent Scrabble player, and a puzzle and game enthusiast, particularly word puzzles. His life “bucket list” dream is to construct a crossword published in the New York Times.

Ineke Vermeulen – Senior Marketing Manager, Atos (Moderator)

Ineke Vermeulen from Belgium, based in Munich, has been working first as a developer, portfolio manager and currently as a senior marketing manager and speaker for over a decade for Siemens IT Solutions and Services, now Atos, a global IT powerhouse with roots in Europe. Since 2013 she also lectures bachelor and master business students at the New European College. Her specialty is energizing people to perform at their best, whether it is team members on a complex project or students preparing for success in business. She is also a professional speaker and trainer.
