Leaving legacy behind

Agropolychim AD is a leading manufacturer of nitrogen and phosphorous fertilizers. From its headquarters in Bulgaria, it markets its products throughout the Balkan Peninsula, Southeastern Europe and beyond.

For the last 10 years, Agropolychim had been managing its manufacturing processes using the SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) solution, which was now outdated and unable to meet its expansion goals.

Sowing the seeds of success

Specialists from the Atos Bulgaria SAP competency center evaluated the company’s business and advised implementing SAP S/4HANA using a greenfield strategy. The proposal was accepted, and the two companies went to work. The scope of this implementation includes:

• SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC)
• Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
• Manufacturing Integration Intelligence (MII) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) integration
• Material Master Portal
• Transportation Management

Atos also developed a customer portal that leverages SAP Fiori to enable collaboration with customers and freight providers.

Reaping the harvest

The greenfield implementation of S4/HANA gave Agropolychim a clean slate: a new system with new processes. Additionally, it will enable increased automation and real-time data access across its production units for better decision making.

With demand, supply and financial factors integrated, the manufacturer’s business planning and customer service are both benefiting from streamlined processes.
