Atos extends partnership with VMware to strengthen leadership in IoT Operations

VMworld Barcelona, November 7, 2018

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announced that it is extending its strategic partnership with VMware to help customers address the challenges of deploying complex Internet of Things (IoT) devices and networks at enterprise scale.

VMware Pulse IoT Center will be integrated into the Atos Codex IoT Services management framework, to enable the uninterrupted flow of critical data between connected IoT devices, the Edge, the datacenter, and the Cloud. By working together, Atos and VMware will enable businesses to continuously create value from their connected devices, benefit from a smoother running of IoT operations and simplified IoT device management and monitoring. As enterprises increasingly build new business models using IoT data, enabling an uninterrupted flow of qualitative IoT data at enterprise scale, without risk of interruption, becomes mission critical.

Atos will use its experience in IoT to advise on use cases and provide key functional requirements to help Pulse IoT Center 2.0 support real-life managed IoT scenarios in both service level agreements and business results. It will be available from December 2018 under controlled availability.

Bask Iyer, CIO, VMware and General Manager Edge/IoT, Dell Technologies: Infrastructure that used to be in a data center has expanded to cloud, mobile and now IoT. VMware simplifies Edge and IoT infrastructure complexity, security and scale, to enable customers to focus on building applications for their business rather than the infrastructure beneath it. By partnering with Atos, we are expanding our support for customer IoT deployments with the solutions and services to build and run the next-generation infrastructure foundation for the digital enterprise.”

Atos – Leader in IoT Services Management

Atos is already managing and securing more than 70 million IoT transactions every day. It was recently named a Leader in IoT Services by global research and advisory firm NelsonHall in its latest NEAT analysis on IoT Services.

Paul Albada Jelgersma, Head of Codex IoT Services at Atos: With the worldwide installed base of IoT endpoints expected to reach more than 30 billion in 2020, our customers are looking for partners to effectively manage their assets and generate value from them. We are very pleased to extend our enhanced alliance with Dell Technologies to include this unique design partnership with VMware. By leveraging our combined strength in IoT products and services, our customers will have the IT tools and processes to enable the success of their IoT initiatives and deliver improved business outcomes at scale.”
