Atos official partner of DECASTAR 2018 which saw Kevin Mayer break decathlon world record
Paris, Bordeaux, September 17, 2018
For the 29th consecutive year, Atos successfully managed the critical IT systems of DECASTAR, an event which reunited the best decathlon and heptathlon athletes in the world on September 15-16, 2018 near Bordeaux, France and saw Kevin Mayer break the decathlon world record, scoring a historic score of 9,126 points.
As the IT partner of the event, Atos collected in real time the scoring of the French athlete and shared his outstanding results worldwide.
As part of the four IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) Combined Events Challenge (decathlon and heptathlon), DECASTAR is one of the most important sporting events in the world.
Atos managed the following digital services:
- The conception, execution, and maintenance of the IT Management Systems of each discipline
- Establishing the entries and start lists of each different discipline, and communicating these to the jury, coaches, athletes and IAAF officials
- Providing real-time results for publishing live on screen, online (DECASTAR, IAAF and FFA websites) and for commentators
- Calculating overall rankings and provide results to FFA, IAAF, the jury, the media and the spectators
Since 1989, ADEM (Combined Events and Meeting Development Association) of Talence entrusts Atos with DECASTAR’s IT systems:
