Land of African Business in Paris: Atos supports the African continent on its journey for a sustainable digital growth
Strongly involved in the development of a local African digital economy, Atos sponsored the second edition of the Land of African Business event that took place in Paris (October 19th–23rd).
For the second year in a row, Atos dedicated a full day to the crucial issues faced by African countries, providing the 200 – expert assembly a platform to gather their views and recommendations about the continent’s current and future digital challenges.
This year’s theme, “Digital Economy, an Accelerator of the development of the African Continent”, proved how digital technologies could meet issues raised by the huge demographic growth in urban zones while mitigating the acceleration of cyber risks linked to the digitization of the economy.
A panel of prominent Africa experts and young entrepreneurs enriched the debate on two critical issues:
– Smart Cities or Smart Nations? – The Path Towards the Emergence of an African Model
– Digital Trust, the Condition of a Sustainable Growth in Africa
In addition to live demos, which showcased innovative and customized solutions for the continent, Atos Stakeholders underlined the upcoming opportunities offered by Cognitive Computing as well as its potential impacts on society (areas of applications, ethics and privacy…). Atos Scientific Community and Legal department joined forces to provide valuable insights.
