Atos is awarded for its contribution to the success of Europe’s involvement in the International Space Station (ISS)

3 June 2016

The “ATV Shadow team” including Franck Gangnery from Atos, received the Europe Space Agency ISS award for the Europe Space Agency ISS awardtheir support during the ISS expeditions 41 and 42. This prize celebrates their expertise and professionalism while working on the Automated Transfer Vehicule (ATV) programme. The ATV is the cargo spacecraft that supplies the ISS with propellant, water, air, payloads, and experiments, but also reboosts the station into a higher orbit. Their mission was, among others, to support the day-to-day activities of all mission directors by planning operations, monitoring anomalies or maintaining the qualified status of the ATV Control Centre.

“According to an old saying in space operations, future successes rely on the people of today and the achievements of yesterday. Today, we are here to celebrate both,” said the ceremony’s host, Markus Landgraf from ESA’s Strategic Planning Office.
