“Atos to showcase at the Hannover Messe solutions for Industrial Digitalization developed through a joint Industrial Data Analytics investment program with Siemens “

Siemens Atos Strategic Alliance accelerating digitalization initiatives

Atos, an international leader in digital services, and Siemens, Europe’s largest engineering company, today announced that they will each be demonstrating solutions for industrial Digitalization  developed through their joint Industrial Data Analytics investment program at the Hannover Messe from 13th to 17th April.

These solutions are enabled by a jointly developed data analytics foundation, consisting of technology platforms and a full range of associated business and IT services, which are ready for use to deliver vertical solutions for specific businesses or markets.

This foundation platform supports private, public and hybrid cloud implementations.  It is pre-configured using best-in-class technologies and is fully integrated, secured, managed and highly reusable for a wide range of data analytics services (ranging from descriptive through predictive to real-time prescriptive analytics). It has been designed to be fully suitable for use within B2B & B2C environments. Therefore, the Industrial Data Analytics Foundation dramatically reduces the development costs and time to market for every data-analytics use case. The technical platform is available within hours and typical proofs of concepts can be developed within a week. Business value is typically proven within 4-6 weeks.

Siemens is already leveraging this foundation in its Energy, Rail and Healthcare service businesses.

Atos and Siemens believe that this Industrial Data Analytics Foundation provides a unique competitive advantage to their customers to accelerate their digitalisation transformation. During the Hannover Messe, Atos will present some adoptions of the Industrial Data Analytics Foundation, such as driving improved predictions, allowing B2B companies to speed time to market, improve service and deliver cost savings based on some operational use cases within the telecom, retail and financial services markets.

Secure connectivity of devices is one of the critical enablers of these new services and resulting business models.  In this respect, Atos via its Internet of Things connectivity platform and services delivers a full end to end secure solution across many different industries.

Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos said: “At Atos we speak about the third Digital Revolution where data is a new resource to boost the economy. Access to the right data at the right time will be key in helping industry 4.0 to use equipment more efficiently and offer greater flexibility in manufacturing. Our important and trusted partnership with Siemens is fundamental in helping us develop solutions that can provide our clients with the agility they need to benefit from this digital revolution.”

Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG, said:  “This partnership forms one of the largest strategic relationships ever between a global engineering company and a global IT provider. The value of our combined strength enables our customers to take full advantage of the next wave of industrial IT in order to maintain competitiveness and deliver outstanding services.”

Founded in 2011 and supported by a joint Investment Fund, the focus of the strategic alliance is on a series of innovative solution areas, including data analytics. Its aim is to drive new business opportunities and customer value through technology from the ever increasing data available to organizations thanks to the Internet of Things and the increase in smart, intelligent products.
