“Canopy extends cloud platform for digital business with new Enterprise PaaS offering and joins Cloud Foundry Foundation ”
San Francisco, 11th June 2014
Empowering digital businesses to accelerate time to market with new business innovation delivered through software
Canopy, the Atos cloud powered by EMC and VMware, today announces at the Cloud Foundry Summit the second instalment of its cloud platform for digital business strategy with the introduction of Canopy Cloud Fabric, a new cloud service which delivers Pivotal CF, the leading enterprise distribution of Cloud Foundry, as a service. It is fully supported and managed with enterprise service level agreements (SLAs) and a range of choices over tenancy, geography, hosting and pricing models. Canopy further extends the Canopy Cloud Fabric solution with a comprehensive range of consulting, customization and developer services to support enterprises in their adoption of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
Canopy and Pivotal are also announcing that Canopy is joining the Cloud Foundry Foundation as a Silver member, helping to create an open ecosystem to foster the growth and development of open enterprise Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that is agile, flexible and easy to use.
A key concern for both business and IT stakeholders who want to reinvent their organization as an adaptive digital enterprise is how they can consistently deliver new and better digital experiences for their customers faster than their competitors. PaaS is critical to driving business innovation through software because it enables organizations to move from few large application updates per year to smaller updates delivered much more frequently. Getting to market faster with new innovations for customers enables adaptive digital enterprises to pull away from their competitors.
Introducing Canopy Cloud Fabric
Canopy Cloud Fabric takes Pivotal CF – the leading Enterprise PaaS – and delivers it as a managed cloud service with additional capabilities from Canopy:
- Choice of locations around the world to meet data locality/sovereignty requirements
- Choice of hosting arrangements, including the option to host your own dedicated private PaaS in your own datacentre
- Range of application services provided and managed by Canopy, including the option to host services locally to your application to remove network latency issues
- Consulting, customisation and developer services to customise the solution to meet the specific needs of your organization
- All of the above managed and supported by Canopy with rock solid enterprise class service levels
