“Fast, secure and robust: Mobile payment terminal YOXIMO from Worldline available in Germany”

  • Integrated technology for contactless data exchange via GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 3G
  • High transaction speed by powerful Samoa II chip
  • PIN entry privacy, large color screen and long battery life
  • Fastest mobile terminal on the German market

The contactless mobile payment terminal from Worldline, YOXIMO enters the German market. The fastest mobile terminal has been approved by the German Credit Committee (DK) for holding the necessary approvals DC POS 2.5 and 7.0 TA. Thus Worldline, Atos subsidiary in e-payment services, has successfully fulfilled all conditions for market entry. With YOXIMO the company meets its customer’s expectations to provide mobile, fast, safe and contactless payments.

By continually responding to customer feedback and industry trends, Worldline delivers payment terminals and accessories that meet the needs of a wide range of clients – shop-based and mobile retailers, attended and unattended petrol stations, and financial institutions. “Since contactless terminals are becoming increasingly popular, already 90 percent of our current range of terminals have a radio antenna, "said Wolf Kunisch, CEO of Worldline in Germany & CEE. "With YOXIMO we meet the expectations of our customers to provide mobile, fast, safe and contactless payments through our terminals."

The YOXIMO terminal, like its predecessor XENTISSIMO, provides the patented, space-saving retractable privacy shield. Only when opened it grants access to the smart card and magnetic stripe reader, and thus protects users from curious eyes while entering their PIN. In addition, the terminal is light and extremely robust constructed, and therefore also useful for daily use on the road such as suitable for delivery employees or at farmers markets.

The terminal has a large (320 x 240 pixels, 52.6 mm x 27.5 mm) Thin-film transistor (TFT) color display, which contains a contactless reader with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. It ensures that transactions with contactless media can be safely processed. Like all terminals of the Worldline family, the YOXIMO contains a system-on-chip technology: This ensures fast transaction speed and maximum payment security. Tests by the German Credit Committee showed that the transaction duration of YOXIMO base terminals was at only 2.745 seconds.

YOXIMO is available with the wireless communication components WiFi / Bluetooth, 2G and 3G, and depending on the specific topic can be used effectively for mobile applications. Further handy accessories, like the hinged protective case, complete the new offer. With this feature the terminal must not be removed from the protective bag and is protected perfectly during the checkout process.

Payment terminals and Worldline

All terminals from Worldline use the same custom system-on-a-chip architecture to deliver fast, secure transactions. Costly service call-outs are minimised by secure download options for software updates and security keys. The quality of Worldline terminals is backed by thorough lab testing and ISO 9001:2008 certification. To date Worldline has over 850,000 payment terminals installed across Europe.
