“Worldline showcases its innovative power at Mobile World Congress”

Connected car experience R-link inside a Renault, shopping experience that skips the cash register at Geox store and Mobile proximity payments with NFC/HCE

Worldline, an Atos subsidiary in e-payment and transactional services, demonstrates its innovative solutions around consumer cloud, e-payment, Connected Living and Digital Retail. During Mobile World Congress that takes place in Barcelona till 27 February, experts are present at its booth on the Government Catalonia Pavilion #CS50-19. Worldline is registered in several awards categories, including the connected Life Awards and Apps of the year.

Worldline, first actor to implement Connected Living

Initially focused on M2M, Connected Living is now growing towards Internet of Everything (IoE) new business models. Worldline improves IoE applications time-to-market, reduces complexity, lowers costs of operations and allows future-proofs investment, growing with the customer’s business. Worldline was the first actor to already implement Connecting Living for Renault R-Link with an Internet Of Cars system with a Mass Market Automotive eStore and the introduction of in-car payment.

Three innovations are demonstrated:

 

 

  • Connected Car experience – A Renault car is present at the event to show the new R-Link multimedia system. R-Link is an embedded multimedia tablet connected to Internet with a mass market automotive apps Store – more than 100 apps are now available- and the introduction of in-car payment.
  • Mobile experience Geox -Together with the city of Barcelona a mobile experience demonstration at a Geox store near the expo center is given, Passeig de Gracia, 52. It consists of various options: use smartphone with NFC tag, Tap&Pay, using NFC Technology, and buy through the application and get a QR code, or Scan&Buy, using image recognition to get extended information about the product, composition, colours, sizes.
  • Demonstration of mobile face-to-face payments with NFC Host Card Emulation mode – NFC is one of the several technologies that can enable the use of mobile for face-to-face payment. Worldline will demonstrate its capabilities in NFC mobile applications based on the newly supported Host Card Emulation (HCE) mode, notably for mobile face-to-face payments, as one of the choices open to banks and card issuers to enable Mobile Wallets.
