National Trust collaborates with Atos to enhance supporter experience

London 23 November 2020

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, has been selected by Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust, as its preferred partner to digitally reconfigure its membership and fundraising activities.

The ambitious transformational programme involves implementing a supporter engagement platform built on the Salesforce Lightning framework and using both Salesforce modules and independent apps.

As part of a wider digital transformation project in the conservation charity’s 125th year, Atos will integrate these technical building blocks within National Trust’s existing technology estate, to migrate supporter and peripheral dataset from existing systems to the new scalable Salesforce platform.

The cloud-based solution will result in a remodelling of the organisation’s existing networks and touchpoints, improving both the supporter experience for the National Trust’s 5.6 million members and the workplace experience as well as reducing its carbon footprint.

The new platform will facilitate and encourage ongoing engagement, for example, by reducing time-to-market for new and bespoke member offers or offering donation flexibility – all whilst managing the demands of a growing supporter base.

Jon Townsend, Chief Information Officer, National Trust, said: “As part of our long term-vision to enhance supporter engagement and experience, we are pleased to partner with Atos to integrate business processes which support our digital transformation while reducing our energy footprint. This will improve agility across our technology estate and will ultimately support the conservation of heritage sites across the UK.

Jean-Philippe Poirault, Head of Telecoms, Media & Technology, Atos, said: “We are pleased to support the National Trust in its ambition to deliver a step-change in user experience and drive supporter growth through our mix of innovative solutions, proven track record and experience in Salesforce implementation which will drive engagement among the charity’s many members and supporters and unlock future growth opportunities.

Jonny Elliot, Nonprofit Strategic Industry Advisor, Salesforce, said: “In collaboration with Atos, we are proud to support the National Trust on their journey of digital transformation as they seek to meet the needs of an environment under pressure, and the challenges and expectations of a fast-moving world.

Atos will be responsible for both the development and deployment of the Salesforce ecosystem, supported by the Salesforce Centre of Excellence and Salesforce partnership.
