Dolomiti Energia Group continues its journey towards decarbonization with Atos

Paris and Milan, 6 May 2021

Atos and Dolomiti Energia announce a new collaboration, within their partnership, to continues and accelerate Dolomiti Energia’s journey towards sustainability and decarbonization through digital transformation.

As one of the main national multi-utilities and one of the first Italian producers of hydroelectric energy, the Dolomiti Energia Group committed to reduce the carbon footprint of its activities by using innovative solutions that do not weigh on the environment and building every single offer with a view to low environmental impact. To achieve this objective, Dolomiti is leveraging new sensor technologies and data analytics to improve customer satisfaction and increase the efficiency and management of on field activities, such as maintenance, technical assistance and emergency service.

Atos developed a tailored app called “Screwdriver” for carrying out interventions on low voltage power points equipped with new smart meters, to eliminate the repetition of field interventions, improving overall efficiency and projecting a reduction in fuel consumption and the consequent emissions. The Screwdriver application works on two levels: it manages the characteristics of the smart meter device (definition of the displays, composition of the reading registers, composition of the parameters that affect the supply of energy) attributing different models and functions based on the defined parameters and therefore manages the interactions with the operator necessary to implement a specific process, such as the development of consistency checks between the serial number of the smart meter detected by the BIRD probe and that reported in the specific user management order, relating to the status of the meter intelligent downstream of programming interventions via commands. The App, in fact, through the controls it introduces, tends to avoid the repetition of field interventions, improving the overall results and projecting a reduction in fuel consumption.

In addition, Atos ensured the dialogue between a new management platform introduced by Dolomiti and the Remote Management System (TMM) through the use of the SAP Process Integrator to grant the management of smart meters, such as user management, maintenance, technical assistance and emergency service. Atos made available new functions and interfaces for the routing of orders, based on defined parameters, such as the type, the status of the order and the competence center.

“Committing to a sustainable future means thinking and optimize key processes in a digital and paper less way” declared Edoardo Fistolera, Head of Information & Communication Technology, Dolomiti Energia. “Atos has been a strategic partner for us for over ten years, and once again it is at our side in this fundamental challenge. The projects we are implementing together are extremely important not only to support the development of our business but also to make a contribution to the sustainable growth of our country.”

“We are proud that Atos can support the implementation of digital projects aimed at decarbonisation. Leveraging on the verticalization of our portfolio and our Industry Knowledge, we are committed to accelerating the digital transformation of our customers “ says Angela Pinciroli, Head of Resources & Services, Atos in Italy. “The partnership with Dolomiti Energia, which has always been attentive to innovation and improving the quality standards of its services, is a great source of pride for us.”

The Dolomiti Energia Group is present throughout the energy supply chain: from production and distribution to the sale of electricity and gas throughout Italy and, with 1,400 employees and a consolidated turnover in 2020 of almost 1.4 billion euros, it is one of the leading Italian multi-utility companies and one of the first Italian producers of clean and environmentally friendly hydroelectric energy.
