Atos’ BullSequana servers selected by the French State Purchasing Department

Paris, 9 June 2020

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, announces that its BullSequana S800 servers will be marketed to the French State Procurement Department (DAE), as part of a tender won by its partner SCC, a European leader in digital services and solutions. This three-year contract aims to offer the BullSequana S to large French public administrations and public structures.

Originating from Atos’ R&D France department at its site at Les Clayes-sous-bois and produced at the Group’s factory in Angers, the BullSequana S800 high-end server meets the performance, reliability and cost optimization requirements of public sector organizations. With its large memory capacity and scalability of up to 16 Intel processors, it also integrates NVIDIA GPUs to accelerate performance and facilitate the integration of next-generation applications, such as Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning. In addition, it offers scalability for managing large in-memory databases, as well as high availability and ease of maintenance.

The BullSequana S range of servers also benefits from Atos’ recognized expertise in SAP environments, with which many French public administrations are equipped. Capable of managing more than twice the volume of data than the previous generation, the latest version of the BullSequana S800 can handle very large-scale SAP installations. Atos currently supports more than 3 million SAP end users worldwide.

“We are proud to have been selected for this strategic market and we are delighted to be able to bring our expertise in X86 enterprise servers to the DAE,” said Isabelle Rouland, Head of Public Sector & Defense at Atos in France. “The performance of our BullSequana servers, combined with our unique knowledge of SAP environments and technologies, will be able to support French administrations and public bodies in their digital transformation projects.”
