Canal de Isabel II awards Atos the IT management of more than 2,500 workstations

The main goal of the project is to deliver a high-quality IT service that ensures the continuity of operations at the company’s workstations, enhances user satisfaction, and provides a core service that guarantees availability and appropriate response times when using Canal de Isabel II’s information systems.

The €8.6 million contract covers the comprehensive management of user workstations, devices, the User Support Center, and the administration of the different user profiles within Canal de Isabel II, in an environment focused on optimizing quality, proactivity, and continuous improvement.

Madrid, 28 April 2025.- Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announces that it has been awarded by Canal de Isabel II (CYII) an IT services contract for more than 2,500 workstations, as part of its strategic Cybersecurity and Service Continuity plans, as well as its Digitalization and Process Optimization efforts. Through this initiative, CYII aims to ensure continuity of IT services, the operational functionality of its workstations, user satisfaction, and a core service that ensures system availability and optimal response times.

The €8.6 million contract includes the end-to-end management of user workstations and devices, the User Support Center, and the administration of the various user profiles at Canal de Isabel II, all within a framework designed to enhance quality, proactivity, and continuous improvement.

Multiple levels of support

The project introduces an innovative approach to operational structure and service management. It includes multiple support levels to ensure swift incident resolution and comprehensive user support, including personalized VIP assistance at different sites and a technical lab focused on problem analysis, resolution, and platform standards definition. This is complemented by a systems administration team offering both remote and on-site support, and a service management model based on ITIL and Atos’s proprietary methodology, ASMM, which integrates ITIL 4 principles.

In addition to ensuring operational excellence, the project includes a robust contingency plan that guarantees service continuity in any scenario. This plan incorporates backup centers and redundant communication systems to ensure connectivity and an effective, proven response framework, as demonstrated during the pandemic.

Top-tier quality

The core focus of the project is to deliver a high-quality IT service that ensures IT service continuity, the operational performance of workstations, user satisfaction, and a vital service that supports availability and optimal response times when using Canal de Isabel II’s information systems. To this end, a structured solution has been designed, featuring a 24/7 operational support center in Madrid, equipped with a multichannel support platform that includes online chat and advanced contact management. It also leverages Power BI for real-time reporting and interactive dashboards, facilitating informed decision-making and continuous service quality monitoring.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a key pillar of the project, aligning with Canal de Isabel II’s environmental objectives. It involves significantly reducing carbon emissions through initiatives such as process automation, the use of collaborative tools to reduce travel, optimized device lifecycle management, and remote update management—minimizing the need for on-site support and thereby reducing the carbon footprint.

Continuous improvement

Atos ensures the integration of the best market practices, certified by international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 20000, and ISO 27001, guaranteeing quality, security, and efficiency.

According to Camino Frade, Project Manager at Atos, “The proposal, designed to meet Canal’s needs, combines our extensive experience in managing this type of service, the technological innovation we rely on, and a strong commitment to sustainability. It creates a solution that not only aims to improve user satisfaction but also aligns Canal’s operations with the highest technological and environmental standards”.
