Atos ranked first overall in Whitelane’s 2020 IT Outsourcing Study for Belgium and Luxembourg

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, today announced it was ranked first overall in the latest edition of the Belgium & Luxembourg IT Sourcing Study conducted by Whitelane Research and based on client satisfaction. As part of this study, Atos also ranked first in the category ‘Data centre, managed infrastructure and hosting’ for the third consecutive year. Above all, the satisfaction of Atos’ customers has increased significantly, from 77 to 82% in one year.

Atos supercomputer to enhance weather prediction capabilities for leading European numerical weather centre ECMWF

Paris, France; London, UK, January 13, 2020

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, has signed a new four-year contract worth over €80 million (approximately £67.8 million) with the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) to supply its BullSequana XH2000 supercomputer, which is one of the most powerful meteorological supercomputers in the world. It will increase ECMWF’s computing power by a factor of around 5 and will support hundreds of researchers from over 30 countries across Europe in their work on medium and long-range weather forecasting and prediction. Notably, it will enable them to reliably predict the occurrence and intensity of extreme weather events significantly ahead of time, essential to respond to the climate and weather crisis facing us today.

Atos empowers researchers at the University of Luxembourg with its BullSequana XH2000 supercomputer

Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, has signed a 4-year contract to supply its BullSequana XH2000 supercomputer, to the University of Luxembourg, renowned European university and international leader in research. The supercomputer, named as ‘AION’, will allow the university to further accelerate research and to face global competition, by achieving cutting-edge results.

The BullSequana XH2000 supercomputer will give researchers 1.5 times more computing capacity than previously, with a theoretical peak performance of 1.7 petaflops which will complement the existing supercomputing cluster. It will be equipped with AMD EPYC™ processors and Mellanox InfiniBand HDR technology, connected to a DDN storage environment.
