About David Pointcheval
Chief Scientific Officer at Cosmian
David Pointcheval spent more than 30 years as a CNRS researcher at École Normale Supérieure, where he led the Cryptography Team (2005-2024) and the Computer Science Department (2017-2024). Throughout his career, his research has focused on provable security of cryptographic primitives and protocols, an area in which he has published nearly 200 papers in international journals and conferences.
His work has been widely recognized: in 2021, he received the CNRS Silver Medal and the RSA Award for Excellence in Mathematics, and last year he received the Lazare Carnot prize from the French Academy of Sciences.
In 2024, he joined Cosmian as Chief Scientific Officer, where he now applies this expertise to protecting data in the cloud and to developing an electronic voting platform.
