Atos and AWS joint CloudCatalyst entrusted by Fortune 500 tire manufacturer for a transformational journey to hybrid cloud

Las Vegas, USA and Paris, France – November 30, 2023

Atos today announced with Amazon Web Services (AWS) they have been selected by a Fortune 500 tire manufacturer to accelerate the migration of key systems and workloads from managed on-premise to the AWS cloud with no disruption to service. Atos will take end-to-end accountability for mainframe hosting and AWS cloud migration through a non-disruptive transition plan. This will support business transformation while increasing productivity, cutting costs and contributing to the client’s decarbonization objectives.

Some services will stay on a mainframe, while others will be migrated to the AWS cloud. Atos will provide seamless application and infrastructure support once cloud migration is complete. This partnership will help the tire manufacturer lower operating costs while upgrading from an outdated mainframe infrastructure. Through partnership credits with AWS, Atos is indeed able to reduce the cost of cloud migration for the client. This is the first win of its kind in the United States for Atos.

Cloud migration at this scale can be challenging, however, Atos was able to ease those concerns with a thorough and gradual migration plan along with the hands on, personal approach the company takes. The client was looking to migrate to the cloud in a span of three years and Atos can work at the customers desired speed while navigating their comfort level with the process.

CloudCatalyst, the Atos and AWS joint offering opted for by the client, includes a highly industrialized migration methodology to simplify the task of migrating mission-critical applications and workloads from being managed on-premise to the AWS cloud for increased security, productivity, as well as time and money savings. The companies announced the partnership in November 2022.

The Fortune 500 company also chose Atos, a global tech company, and AWS, an Amazon.com company, because of their trust and values, including innovation, excellence and decarbonization. Migration of workloads from on-premise to the AWS cloud can result in up to 80%[1] carbon reduction.

Brooks Borcherding, Atos Global Head AWS Practice, Atos said “This contract shows the power of our strategic partnership with AWS, enabling customers to leverage both AWS’s portfolio of services and Atos’ expertise as a Global Systems Integrator to benefit from the flexibility, security, resilience, innovation and sustainability offered through the cloud.”

CloudCatalyst is a powerful offering from Atos’ Tech Foundations business line and AWS which enables customers with large-scale infrastructure to accelerate migrations to the cloud as part of their digital transformation. You can learn more at Atos CloudCatalyst.
