Atos deploys a mobile application dedicated to the Decastar 2022 international combined events meeting
Paris, France, 23 August 2022
Atos, historical partner and responsible for major IT services for the Decastar, today announces that it has developed a specific mobile application dedicated to the Decastar event. One of the largest decathlon and heptathlon meetings in the world, Decastar is part of the World Combined Events Tour of the World Athletics international athletics federation. The sporting event will bring together the best athletes in combined events (decathlon and heptathlon) in Talence, in the Gironde region of France, on September 17 and 18, 2022.
The new app developed by Atos enhances the experience for spectators and fans by directing them to a digital platform enabling them to view the athlete line-up, event schedule and live results, consult news, videos, ticketing and access information as well as the Decastar social networks. The app is already available on Apple Store and Play Store.
As part of its partnership with the ADEM organization for the development of combined events (Association pour le Développement des Epreuves Combinées et du Meeting de Talence), Atos has been in charge of the following digital services since 1989:
- Design, creation and maintenance of the computerized test management system
- Inputting the athletes entereddetermining the “start lists” for the various events and communicating them to the jury, coaches, athletes and officials of the international federation
- Processing (retrieval, input, formatting) and management of results in real time on a giant screen, online (on the Decastar and World Athletics websites in particular) and for commentators
- Calculating the general ranking and making result sheets available for the FFA, World Athletics, the events jury, the press and the general public present in the stadium
Philippe Varela, President of ADEM, said “We count on Atos’ teams to provide us with the high quality services and absolute reliability needed for many information systems, such as real-time results management. Over the course of our 33-year partnership, Atos has shown 100% commitment and this year Atos has gone one step further by successfully developing a mobile application that makes Decastar even more accessible for our audience and our many international fans.”
Hervé Moussu, Human Resources Manager of the Atos site in Pessac, added “As the Worldwide IT Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Atos is proud to constantly innovate and develop our expertise in sports event management in order to best support major and internationally recognized competitions such as the Decastar. The deployment of the new Decastar mobile app this year is a natural complement to this offering and will provide a better experience for fans, allowing them to follow the event and athletes’ performances in real time directly on their mobile phone.”
