Atos to implement and operate SAP S/4HANA ERP system at SPIE GmbH

Munich, June 22, 2016

Atos, a leading international provider of digital services, is to introduce a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) SAP S/4HANA-based system and will also be responsible for hosting the system over the next three years. SPIE GmbH is a subsidiary of the SPIE Group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communication. In dealing with these complex challenges, central, flexible and agile resource and process planning across all business units and companies is of major importance.

The rollout of the new systems should be completed by the end of 2017. From then, some 5,500 employees in three countries will be using the SAP S/4HANA solution which will replace the existing systems. SPIE will benefit from having a standard ERP solution with fast access to databases, better networking of individual components and more complex methods of analysis, with the data delivering business-relevant information in realtime. This digital transformation will also have an effect for users -with role-based access technology the users of mobile end devices will also have access to the data that is relevant for them – an important element, especially for service and field staff.

The new ERP system is designed to simplify collaboration between SPIE GmbH’s individual business units. At the same time, the company will be able to meet future resource planning requirements faster, more flexibly and more affordably.

Atos is a long-standing SAP Partner with comprehensive project experience in the introduction and operation of SAP systems. Furthermore, the highly scalable servers from the IT service provider’s “bullion” family are some of the first to be certified as HANA platforms by SAP, and will also be used at SPIE.

“We are growing continuously. With this new ERP system and our partnership with Atos we want to keep pace in the area of IT as well, both safely and in a future-oriented way. In choosing our IT service provider, one of the arguments in favor of Atos is that it will accompany us every step of the way, from rollout to operation,” says Markus Holzke, Managing Director of SPIE GmbH.

“We are very pleased to be accompanying SPIE during its digital transformation with the rollout of a forward-looking ERP system. SPIE will benefit from our integrated portfolio of services as well as our long-standing, solid experience in both the SAP environment and in the service industry,” adds Winfried Holz, CEO of Atos Deutschland.
