Atos celebrates International Women’s Day 2021

This year, Atos is celebrating International Women’s Day with the theme of #ChooseToChallenge – encouraging people to choose to challenge gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping to help create an inclusive world. This year, it is especially important to bring awareness to these issues as the impact of Covid has been extensive on women, who have bared the brunt of extra childcare, lost a greater number of jobs than men and received reduced government support, especially new mothers.

Inspire, Atos’ gender employee network, is celebrating the occasion on Monday 8 March with a series of talks, panel discussions and interactive challenges covering Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.
Denise Reed Lamoreaux, Global Chief Diversity Office, said: “I #ChooseToChallenge the status quo every single day. Whether I am designing learning programs, supporting mentoring and coaching initiatives, reviewing hiring and promotion data, or leading discussion groups focused on ‘getting to Techquity’, I am committed to accelerating gender parity at Atos. I am privileged to work with colleagues in 73 countries who also view this challenge as a business imperative and celebrating International Women’s Day at Atos helps us achieve this.”

In addition to the activities taking place on International Women’s Day, the Inspire Network is also organising an online event in aid of Educating the Children, a charity whose mission is to empower young women in East Africa through education and training that leads to employment. The charity works closely with communities to identify gaps and find solutions which ultimately enable economic empowerment for young women.
