Application performance monitoring in SAP DevOps
Integrated DevOps is widely embraced in the world of custom-written applications,
but less so in the SAP world, where one or two waterfall releases per year are still the norm.
Atos’s application performance management managed service helps
SAP-based enterprises move closer towards continuous integration
continuous delivery (CICD) and achieve a system release frequency
that is measured in weeks rather than months.
We apply AppDynamics to assess application performance in both
development and operations. We integrate it into the development
testing cycle to find bugs before releases go into production (where
they are 10 times more expensive to fix). The support team then
uses the same tooling to monitor performance once the release has
gone into production. This continuity of tooling forms a key part of
achieving the goal of truly integrated DevOps—earlier business value
and fewer issues interrupting business processes.
