Hi there, I’m Joel Smith, and I’m responsible for Public Sector and Defence at Atos UK&I, which includes Civil Nuclear.
As Executive Sponsor for the NDA Group relationship, I’m very proud of the 12 successful years our two organisations have worked together, and I believe we’re at a pivotal stage of our partnership. It’s an exciting time to be a part of your 100-year mission.
Customers such as Sellafield and Nuclear Waste Services are treasured within Atos, with many colleagues having 20+ years of service to the NDA group.
Social value and diversity
My commitment to NDA group is matched by my passion for inclusivity and equality. It’s super-important to me that we work collaboratively with other Sellafield suppliers and Sellafield’s own Social Impact team for the benefit of West Cumbria. For example, I really admire the work NDA is doing to bring new trainees into the industry.
Accelerating innovation
One of my biggest fascinations is how digital technologies bring new possibilities to life. For example, we’re currently looking at how sensors can make your working environments safer, integrating data silos, and making survey data more accessible. All of these initiatives are targeted at helping NDA to operate more effectively, and achieve better outcomes.
NDA and its operating companies’ importance to Atos
It’s great to be part of such an essential core mission as making the UK safer for future generations.
I consider it a privilege to work for a customer with such specialist requirements – one who’s looking to build a partnership with a 110 year horizon! This makes NDA uniquely important to Atos.
