The transition to a cleaner, smarter energy system is already underway. We know that you are shaping a future built on low-carbon innovation, resilient infrastructure and fair, affordable access to energy. These priorities align closely with our own values at Atos.
As a trusted digital partner to the energy sector, we’re committed to supporting this transformation with solutions that are both sustainable and scalable. From decarbonising operations and accelerating clean power integration to protecting critical systems and enabling data-led decision-making, we bring the digital foundations that help make ambitious goals achievable.
Technology plays a vital role in this journey. It empowers organisations to optimise their networks, unlock new efficiencies and embed environmental and social responsibility into everyday decisions. Our role is to help make that technology work with purpose, for people, for systems and for the planet.
Atos combines deep energy expertise with a long-standing commitment to sustainability. Turning Shared Purpose into Progress
Collaborating for a smarter, more sustainable energy system.
At Atos, we believe technology should serve a greater good. That’s why we partnered with National Grid, NESO, Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Circular Computing, and Nexthink to explore a bold idea: can everyday laptops support the energy transition?
In our December 2024 strathack, we challenged ourselves to find out. The result? A set of practical, scalable concepts—from dynamic charging that responds to real-time grid data, to intuitive dashboards that show users the impact of their actions.
For IT leaders and sustainability teams, this unlocks new potential in existing devices—turning them into smart tools that help reduce demand, lower carbon intensity, and drive progress towards net zero.
It’s proof that when purpose and innovation come together, meaningful change is possible.

Atos and WWF partnership
Atos and WWF announced in 2023 a 3-year strategic partnership to leverage technology to support biodiversity conservation and encourage businesses to decarbonize.
Four main initiatives are being rolled out, leveraging the expertise of Atos and WWF teams from all over the world.
Atos to develop responsible IT solutions for WWF and its partners.
Atos and WWF to help advance decarbonization initiatives for industries.
Atos to support on-site WWF France biodiversity projects.
Atos to support on-site WWF France biodiversity projects.
Atos and WWF will analyze every year an industry which has a significant carbon footprint, to identify its main decarbonization levers and provide recommendations to accelerate their decarbonization efforts.
The first report focuses on shipping, which accounted for around 80% of global trade by volume in 2022, and is responsible for around 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Angel Ramirez, Head of Sustainability, Digital Business Platforms at Atos, tells us about their research.
Atos and WWF have defined conservation projects which could benefit from Atos’ technological expertise:
- Automating biodiversity surveillance in East Africa
- Predicting & preventing epidemic risk in the Mekong Basin
- Improving tech tools for conservation agents
Andy Wallace, Client Innovation Manager UK&I Atos, tells us more about these projects.
