Next Generation Data Center

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, businesses are increasingly challenged to find IT solutions that are not only agile and cost-effective but also scalable to accommodate growth and innovation. Enter Next Generation Data Center (NGDC), a cutting-edge multi-tenant data center hosting solution specifically engineered to meet these critical needs.

Evolution of infrastructure

Examining the evolution of IT reveals an initial phase where a single application was hosted on a physical server. As the new century dawned, virtualization emerged as a transformative trend, allowing for improved hardware usage efficiency and quicker deployment times through the pooling of physical resources. This progress culminated in the emergence of the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), where the virtualization of all three key components – compute, storage, and networking – is coordinated and augmented by a management layer for seamless orchestration and automation. The SDDC has become indispensable for the burgeoning DevSecOps movement and serves as the foundational architecture for public clouds.

Best of both worlds

Within the infrastructure continuum, NGDC sits between Private Cloud and Public Cloud, combining the strengths of both. It harnesses the scalability, flexibility, and pay-as-you-use characteristics inherent in Public Cloud while embracing the data sovereignty, privacy, proximity, and predictability offered by the Private Cloud.

Cloud Management Portal

The Cloud Management Portal (CMP), accessible to all NGDC customers, offers an intuitive platform designed for resource requests through an extensive catalog. This catalog empowers customers to select vital resources, which are subsequently deployed automatically end-to-end (from catalog to managed product), encompassing day 2 operations, thereby ensuring efficiency, speed and uniformity. Continuously enhanced and enriched, the portal consistently unveils new features and services. Furthermore, the catalog can be meticulously tailored to suit each customer’s unique needs, guaranteeing a personalized and optimized experience.

Recognition

In 2024, Atos Belgium was awarded the Data Center Services Company of the Year award at the prestigious DataNews Awards for Excellence. DataNews added the following statement when announcing this award: “The jury makes a statement with this award. Atos was in difficult financial papers, but that is separate from their excellent service and that should be said out loud. The company offers a broad technology stack and is generally highly valued by the jury.”
