Nailing the first impression, what to wear on your first day?

Your first day at work is your chance to make a strong impression! Dressing the part can boost your confidence and set the right tone.

Explore our tips on how to dress for success on day one, and don’t miss advice from our recruitment expert, Mitko Kolarov, to help you start off on the right foot!

Research the dress code

Before your first day, try to understand the company’s culture. Check their social media or ask HR about the typical office attire, whether it’s business formal, business casual or a more relaxed dress code.

Dress one level up

If you’re unsure, it’s safer to dress slightly more formal that what might be expected. It shows professionalism and respect for the workplace.

Opt for neutral colors

Neutral tones like navy, black, gray, and white are classic and give off a polished look. Save bold prints or bright colors for when you’re more familiar with the company culture.

Wear comfortable yet professional shoes

Make sure your footwear is polished and appropriate for the environment. Avoid overly casual or worn-out shoes, but make sure they’re comfortable for walking around.

At Atos, we love diversity! Feel free to incorporate cultural attire that reflects your background. Our policy adapts to different situations, so dress to reflect your role and tasks.

If you’re unsure, dressing one level up is always a safe bet. Do you have a question about the dress code? The team is here to support you, just ask!
