Workplace services are one of the most fruitful areas where organizations can improve their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives. ESG focused workplace services can enable enterprises improve their costs, productivity, and employee experience. Despite this, ISG market data shows that ESG is not yet a high priority consideration for most U.S. companies’ workplaces. This suggests an opportunity for enterprises to use ESG as a way to differentiate themselves to their current and future employees of which over a quarter of who will come from the Gen Z generation by the end of 2025, their customers, and the market. Early adopters have proved the benefits of these programs:

  • Sustainable technologies have helped companies optimize their workplace, freeing up expenses through waste reduction and reduced energy use.
  • Companies struggling in a difficult labor market have bolstered employee retention and acquisition with socially-focused initiatives – embracing remote work, adopting new collaboration technology, or creating neurodivergent hiring programs.

These programs have directly addressed employer and employee needs and – considered with the growing interest in ESG in the market – suggest that workplace services are positioned to become a key part of every business’ ESG initiatives as seen in Europe already. Companies can leverage this to better stand out and position themselves to grow in the right direction, and best of all, workplace focused benefits can be realized quickly and easily.
