Every two years, in a new part of the world, the Games are happening, and the IT infrastructure to manage the mission critical system and enormous peaks of data must be ready.
As lead integrator, project manager and IT operations manager, Atos is ultimately responsible for the entire IT infrastructure of the Games. We design, build, integrate and operate the complex infrastructure.
Rio will be the first Summer Games with extensive use of the cloud. Rio shows the paradigm shift and transformation from a ‘build each time’ to a ‘build once’ model where core systems, such as the accreditation system and the volunteer portal, are delivered over the cloud – together with other technology partners.
Resulting in even more consistency, efficiency and effectiveness as well as a better digital experience.

The scale and intensity of The Olympic Games operations make a secure, dedicated, agile cloud infrastructure essential.
Atos will use its affiliate Canopy, with EMC serving as their delivery partner, for scalable cloud based services and Infrastructure as a Service
to transition most of the critical IT services provided by Atos today fully into the cloud for the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
The legacy of our work for the Games can go further with additional all-round IT expertise to help our customers on their digital journey to success. We help our customers gain agility with cloud, providing ultimate and scalable performance on demand, as the business needs it.
