The digital cycle of life – Atos at the Hannover Messe 2019
At the Hannover Messe 2019 Atos will present its vision for the fully integrated digital factory based on actual Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 use cases. Atos will focus on solutions and use cases for the connected smart factory using state-of-the-art technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), IoT, augmented reality, process and plant visualization, product life cycle management (PLM), 3D printing, digital twins, and Atos Codex solutions for transforming data into business value.
The Atos showcases will be based on the “digital cycle of life” of a product going through five stages: design, production, maintenance, quality control, and sales and service. The digital twin of the product design, the production, and the customer interaction is at the heart of the solutions displayed, thus vastly improving control and management of the complete production process.
Throughout all aspects of the product life cycle cyber security is business critical. t each stage Atos will present the solutions for securing the digital digital infrastructure.
Why visit Atos at the Hannover Messe?
Visitors at the Atos booth will get a live experience of the smart factory of the future. During a guided tour along the digital life cycle, experts will explain “real-life” use cases for each stage simulating the end-to-end digital production process of a real product. The whole tour will take approx. 30 minutes.
Stage 1: Design
Product design is based on a 3D model in a PLM environment. To stay ahead of customer trends, new shapes, colors, or sizes of the product will be created using artificial intelligence technology. The creation process uses all relevant product and production data including information gathered at the point of sale and through product usage.
Stage 2: Make
The actual production process benefits from the digital production twin. Technologies such as Siemens MindSphere allow the collection and visualization of all relevant machine, plant, product, and production data. Atos will show how to transfer these data into the optimization of the plant organization and the production process. In addition, the customer will learn about innovative pay-per-use models based on the combination of IoT and payment technologies.
Stage 3: Maintenance
Knowledge and expertise management is an integral part of smart maintenance. Guiding and training onsite technicians needs flexible and integrated collaborations technologies in combination with analytics, big data, AI solutions, and drones. Atos will demonstrate its remote field service solution using the Atos Circuit communications solution with a 3D model of a factory to share picture and voice data with remote experts.
Stage 4: Quality
Deep learning and AI increase the efficiency of quality processes: Atos presents a tried-and-tested example using picture recognition to quickly and easily identify product quality problems based on a learning algorithm. High-performance computing and the Atos Quantum Learning Machine based on Bull Sequana servers can further boost the performance of this solution.
Stage 5: Sales & Services
Data generated at the point of sales and actual product usage are of utmost importance for fully integrated digital production. Understanding when and how a customer is using a product will have major implications for the supply chain and product design. Thus, Atos will show how connected devices like coolers or coffee machines can be integrated into the digital factory.
