Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018)

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) will be the largest sporting event Australia will see this decade and the biggest sporting spectacular the Gold Coast has ever seen. In April 2018, 6,600 athletes and team officials from 71 nations and territories, along with 15,000 volunteers, will converge on the Gold Coast for an 11 day sporting and cultural event. 18 sports and 7 para-sports will be contested and broadcast to a cumulative global audience of 1.5 billion.

  • Deliver robust and cost effective technology infrastructure and service platforms for Information Diffusion Systems (IDS) and Games Management Systems (GMS) that ensures all aspects of related business connectivity and information flow are fit for purpose, thus enabling a high performance GC2018 environment.
  • The Information Diffusion Systems (IDS) and Games Management Systems (GMS) will form a key component in supporting this corporate strategy, along with GOLDOC’s Vision, Mission and Objectives for the Games.

Western Power

Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation with the purpose of connecting people with electricity in a way that is safe, reliable and affordable. They build, maintain and operate the electricity network in the south west corner of Western Australia.

Business Challenges

  • Western Power’s Document Management System (eDOCs DM 6.0.5) reached the end-of-support on 31 December 2012 and subsequently, is no longer maintained by the vendor.
  • New fixes or patches will not be developed unless it is a business critical function.
  • The product is at end-of-life. No further releases of versions are suitable and available for use by Western Power.
